Plain language, no legal filler

Privacy Policy

This page explains, in plain language, what happens to the name you type into the nickname generator, what this site collects when you simply visit it, and who to contact with questions. The short version: the tool itself works entirely inside your own browser, nothing you type is sent to a server, and this site does not use tracking cookies.

The Nickname Generator Itself Collects Nothing

Every symbol nickname and font style on this site is calculated as plain JavaScript in your own browser. When you type into the input box, the results are generated on your device and shown to you immediately. Nothing you type is sent to a server, stored in a database, or visible to us in any form. If you close the tab, the input is gone, with one exception described below.

The only thing saved is a local copy of your last input, kept in your browser's own storage (localStorage) purely so the page can restore it if you come back later. That copy never leaves your device, is never transmitted anywhere, and can be removed at any time by clearing your browser's site data for this domain.

What This Site Collects When You Simply Visit It

Like almost every website, basic technical information passes through our hosting provider automatically as part of serving pages, such as your approximate region (derived from network routing, not GPS), the page requested, and standard technical request headers. This is normal web server operation, not something specific to this site, and it is not linked to anything you type into the generator.

This site does not currently run any page-view analytics service. The only interaction data collected is the anonymous thumbs-up/thumbs-down feedback signal described below, if you choose to use it. There is no advertising tracking pixel, no cross-site tracking cookie, and no sale of visitor data to third parties.

Feedback and Contact

If you use the thumbs-up or thumbs-down feedback control on this site, an anonymous rating is recorded for that page, with no personal information attached and no way to trace it back to you individually.

If you email us at contact@nickname-generator.xyz, we naturally receive whatever information you choose to include in that email, such as your email address and the content of your message. That information is used only to reply to you and is not added to any marketing list or shared with third parties.

See the nickname generator, the nickname examples page, and the how it works page for details on the tool this policy covers.

Data Retention and Your Choices

Because the generator itself never transmits your input, there is no server-side copy of it to retain or delete in the first place. The only data point that could exist is the local browser storage entry described above, and you control that directly: clearing your browser's cookies and site data for this domain removes it completely, with no need to contact us first.

The anonymous feedback signal described above is not tied to an individual visitor identity, so there is no per-person record to request or delete. If you emailed us directly, that message sits in a normal email inbox like any other message you send someone, and you can ask us to delete a specific email exchange at any time using the same contact address.

Your Rights Under GDPR, CCPA and the Philippine Data Privacy Act

Depending on where you live, you may have rights under a privacy law such as the EU/UK GDPR, the California CCPA, or the Philippine Data Privacy Act of 2012, including the right to know what personal data is held about you, the right to ask for it to be corrected or deleted, and the right to object to certain processing. Given that this site collects no personal data through the tool itself and no advertising trackers, in practice the only personal data that can exist is whatever you voluntarily sent in an email. Any such request can be sent to contact@nickname-generator.xyz and will be honored without requiring an account, a login, or a fee.

Children's Privacy and Third-Party Links

This site is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, of any age, through the generator tool. A handful of pages on this site link out to other tools or reference sections within the same site; those internal links stay entirely within this domain. If an external link is ever added, it will be to reputable, publicly documented sources, and this policy only covers this site, not any third-party destination a visitor chooses to click through to.

Changes to This Policy

If this policy changes in a way that affects what data is collected, this page will be updated and the date below will change. Checking back here occasionally is the simplest way to stay current, since there is no account or email list to notify separately.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do you store the name I type into the generator?
No. The conversion happens entirely in your browser. The only copy of your text is a local one saved in your own browser's storage so the page can remember it for you, and it never reaches a server.
Do you use cookies?
No tracking cookies. This site does not currently run a page-view analytics service, and the only optional interaction data is the anonymous thumbs-up/thumbs-down feedback signal, which does not use a cookie or build a profile of you.
Do you sell or share visitor data?
No. There is no advertising tracking pixel, no data broker relationship, and no sale of visitor information to third parties.
How do I contact you about a privacy question?
Email contact@nickname-generator.xyz. We read every message sent there.
Is this the same as an Impressum?
No. An Impressum is a specific legal disclosure required for websites operating in the German market. This is an English-language site with no German-market presence, so a plain privacy policy is the appropriate page here instead.
Do I have privacy rights here even though the tool collects nothing?
Yes, those rights still apply to you generally, they simply have little to act on in this case since the generator itself does not collect personal data. If you ever emailed us directly, you can ask for that specific email to be deleted at any time using the same contact address.
Is this site safe for kids to use?
The tool itself is a simple text conversion utility with no accounts, no chat, and no data collection, so there is nothing here that specifically targets or profiles children. It is not, however, designed or marketed as a children's product.
